Fly Tying Friday 3.10.18

March 15, 2018 Posted by jasonarave Blog No Comments

Leading off this edition of #flytyingfriday is the creator of #balancedhybridstreamer , @troutman58???? This #fly is so awesome to watch it do its magic in the water . It can lay dead still horizontally or (balanced) .And then when needed, flip the switch to ON⚡⚡ with some jig & strips and see it come to life !! ==========================
Check it out on YouTube under = JeffDuClos ?

Just looking at this giant #streamer tied by @p_c_dub ??, reminds of the formula : Mass X Acceleration X Distance = And the answer is ….
?????????????? Very cool Megahead creation for the #bigfish in #alaska !

This is a cool look back at some 1rst gen heads that are almost 3 years old . @montanafishman ??, has made some very cool flies with them
Looking good !

Well …., do these look delicious or what??????? These are #balancedhybridstreamers tied by @utahflyguy ???? .., The pattern was developed by @troutman58 ! Both of these guys are “fishy “ and this 3 little #streamers are going to get…….., “ TAKEN ?“……! Very nice work guys !!

Black is an Amazing fish catching color ! This Carp slayer tied by @970.flyfishing was a huge success for him last year and is already catching rubber lips this year !! Swipe left to see ?? Although .., this fly would pretty much slay just about anywhere I think ! ==========================

Great little #bluegill pattern tied by @kaminski_flies ????. Love how this skirt is tied in !!! Not hard to imagine all the movement built into this pattern . Throw this near a #bass bed this spring and see what happens ??
Great Work Brendan !

The #minnowmorsel as tied by @fenton_flies ????!! Great looking pattern that is an obvious producer ?!! @papiscado with the fish ??

Many of @mt_kiwi ‘s #streamers wreck fish ! The proof is on his IG account . His #kiwisparkler pattern is the one I was watching closely for a period time . It was taking a lot of solid fish through the year , especially early spring . That pattern has gained a reputation for putting fish in the boat ! But just in case a particular fish on a particular day would not eat it because of its size , here is the smaller .., #pinheadsparkler ????!! Nice Work Art ??!! ==========================

So I usually don’t post my own flies on #flytyingfriday . Friday is set aside to highlight and share the work of Flytyers that are using Dropjawflyheads . The body of work that has been on display from Many Flytyers has been incredible and I Thank You for the support !! As many of you know there is a another business that has made clones of the #dropjawheads and sells them . This isn’t anything new in business but that does not make it right! Calling people out that practice their business like this is also “ Not.. New!” @grittyangler brought this subject to the fore today and his post is a good one to read . What are ethics anymore ??? Should we respect other people’s work or just say ”screw it “ ?? I enjoyed using flymens bait skulls for years . And when I wanted to make my own , I didn’t stamp out metal heads that were copies of theirs . And If I would have …, you can bet I would have been called out for it . Where do you side on this issue ? And what will the future hold for the FlyFishing industry if we Steal each other’s ideas and product designs . And make profit off of others hard work they sacrificed time and money to make ??? Let me know and check out @grittyangler‘s post Thank you !
